Terms of Use

Effective and last updated: October 14, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the ProjectG mobile application and website (“ProjectG” or “the Services”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Purpose and permitted use

ProjectG is provided as a personal Catholic devotional aid. You may use it for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not interfere with the Services, attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems, introduce malicious code, use automated means to overload an online service, or misuse content in violation of applicable law.

Accounts and sync

An account is optional. If you sign in with Apple or Google, you authorize ProjectG to use the authentication information that provider makes available and to store novena plans and completion progress in Supabase for backup and cross-device sync. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and provider account and for activity performed through your account.

You can sign out or delete your ProjectG account from Settings. Account deletion removes the ProjectG account and its associated synced records but leaves local app records on your devices. See the account-deletion page and Privacy Policy for details.

Your content

You retain ownership of intentions, journal entries, reflections, blessings, and other content you create. Private intentions, journal entries, and blessings are stored on your device. You grant ProjectG only the permission needed to provide features you choose, including syncing novena plans and progress when you sign in. You are responsible for your content and should avoid entering information you do not have the right to store or share.

Devotional and Scripture content

The in-app Bible reader uses the public-domain Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible. ProjectG includes prayers from identified historical Catholic sources and displays source-transparency information within the app. Daily Mass-reading citations are provided for reference; the app links to USCCB.org for the copyrighted NAB/NABRE wording rather than reproducing it.

ProjectG is an independent devotional aid. It is not an official publication of the Holy See, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, a diocese, religious order, shrine, parish, Apple, Google, Supabase, or any saint-related organization named or linked in the app. Source links do not imply endorsement or ecclesiastical approval.

Some historical prayers have an optional, lightly updated English version labeled as an editorial adaptation. Historical ecclesiastical approvals do not extend to these edits or to ProjectG. Some nine-day plans use a historical prayer as a personal devotional practice. Daily reading dates follow your device, while citations use the U.S. calendar; local feasts and readings in other countries may differ.

Not professional or pastoral advice

The Services are for prayer, reading, reflection, and personal organization. They do not replace the teaching, sacraments, or pastoral guidance of the Catholic Church, and they do not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or emergency advice. If you need urgent or professional help, contact an appropriate professional or emergency service.

Free service and third-party services

ProjectG is free, without ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. John Money earns no revenue from the app. Optional sign-in and sync use Apple, Google, and Supabase. Reference features use GeoNames data, thedouayrheims.com, the Catholic Readings API, and external source links including USCCB.org. These providers operate under their own terms and policies. ProjectG does not control third-party availability, content, security, or policy changes.

Availability and changes

We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, including to fix errors, protect users, comply with law or platform rules, or respond to a provider change. Online features may be unavailable because of maintenance, network conditions, provider outages, account suspension, or other circumstances.

Intellectual property

ProjectG’s original interface, branding, design, software, and original written material are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Scripture, historical prayers, artwork, datasets, trademarks, and third-party materials remain subject to their respective public-domain status, licenses, attribution requirements, or owners’ rights. These Terms do not transfer ownership of ProjectG or third-party materials to you.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no guarantee that the Services will always be available, error-free, complete, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ProjectG and its creator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use arising from the Services. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.

Ending your use

You may stop using ProjectG at any time. We may restrict online access when reasonably necessary to protect the Services or other users, investigate abuse, or comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limitations, will continue to apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. The current Terms and effective date will remain available on this page. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
